CHOOSE YOUR WAY IN

A little curiosity.
A practice of your own.

Try a smaller collection, explore a full month, or discover the planned monthly series. Each option is designed to stand on its own, without a live session.

THE STARTER

5drawing exercises

A first look

A small introduction to the practice. Make a little time and see what you notice.

Planned starter collection

THE MONTHLY COLLECTION

30new drawings each month

Keep exploring

A new collection each month, with fresh subject matter to keep your daily practice interesting.

Planned subscription

Collections are not yet available to purchase. Prices, release dates, and subscription terms will be published before ordering opens.

THE SAME PRACTICE. TWO FORMATS.

Make room
on your desk.

Each full collection is planned around 30 two-page exercises: an upside-down reference on the left, a blank drawing page on the right. That’s 60 exercise pages, plus the guide.

PLANNED PHYSICAL EDITION

Open the book. Keep both pages in view.

A facing-page format gives the reference and your drawing their own space. A binding that opens comfortably and paper suited to pencil drawing are priorities for the physical edition.

Binding, dimensions, paper, shipping, and final specifications are still being developed.

DRAWING IS THE STARTING POINT

Give a different way
of thinking
some room.

This practice invites sustained attention to what you see. You can arrive with a writing project, a campaign, a business question—or no question at all.

01

Make a daily appointment with curiosity.

Thirty exercises give you one for each day of a month-long practice. Start with ten minutes as a suggested routine, and stay longer if you like.

02

Explore through observation.

Each collection pairs original reference drawings with room to draw. Complete guidance comes with the book; you don’t need a live session or prior drawing experience.

03

Let the meaning be yours.

You decide whether anything you notice connects to your work or life. There is no required insight, perfect drawing, or prescribed next step.

A SERIES TO KEEP EXPLORING

New subjects.
Fresh curiosity.

Themed collections are in planning. Subjects offer variety and different details to observe.

COLLECTION CONCEPT

A closer look at the natural world.

A proposed collection of animal subjects, with varied contours, proportions, and details to observe.

Artwork and contents have not yet been finalized.

MEET KATIE · FOUNDER

A continuous learner.
A different perspective.

I tried the exercises. I noticed a shift in how I approached my work. I wanted to make that kind of exploration accessible to others.

Reading Betty Edwards’s books introduced me to drawing as a way to explore visual, perceptual thinking. In my own experience, the exercises helped me approach marketing initiatives, campaigns, and writing differently.

Drawn to Different grows from that experience and my love of learning. I want people to have a practice they can explore independently, whether or not their organization invests in their development.

My role is to offer the exercise. What you discover—and what you do with it—belongs to you.

About the inspiration behind the practice

Betty Edwards’s Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain and Drawing on the Artist Within are influences on Katie’s approach. Edwards describes a shift toward visual, perceptual thinking. Drawn to Different is an independent project with its own planned artwork and guidance, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Edwards.

The practice invites exploration; it does not promise a literal hemisphere switch, a timed neurological effect, or a particular creative outcome.
